Saturday 3rd August was our annual Gents Fereneze Open sponsored for the 1st time by our new sponsors Specsavers Barrhead. We’re thrilled to have them partner with us and we’re very grateful not only for the sponsorship but also the donation of 3 prizes, 2 of which went to our trophy winners and the third picked out on the day by the Specsavers colleagues in attendance.
We had a field of 150 with more than 25% of the participants being guests from other clubs.
The Scratch winner and winning the Russell Cup for the 6th time was Davie Miller shooting 1 under par and pipping Richie Elrick on the better inward half.
The winner of the Jay Little Trophy for shooting the best net score of the day, an incredible net 63, was Ger Higgins. That was good enough to secure a 3 shot victory over Thomas Quinn who had net 66.
And Stevie Gribben was the lucky draw picking up the 3rd of the generous prizes our friends at Specsavers Barrhead donated on the day. Don’t forget as a Fereneze Member you can now benefit from a 10% discount at the Specsavers Barrhead branch.
